Tom is a full-time investor with interests spanning energy, mining, and real estate. He has served on multiple boards, including energy companies, a private school and a non-profit.

In 2009, Tom and two partners acquired West Star Operating Company and West Star Exploration & Production Company. As Chief Financial Officer of both entities, he helped oversee daily operations and directed all financial and related activities. During his tenure, he successfully helped raise more than $110 million in private equity to fund the companies’ oil and gas exploration projects.

Before his time at West Star, Tom served as Vice President and General Manager of Salt Grass Petroleum, Inc., a firm established to identify, develop, and finance international oil and gas ventures. In that role, he managed the company’s financial, logistical, and legal operations, and led negotiations with both oil companies and foreign governments.

Earlier in his career, Tom spent nine years with The Gillette Company in positions of increasing responsibility. His work in sales and management culminated in overseeing more than $125 million in annual sales with Gillette’s largest global customer.

Tom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder, with concentrations in Finance and Marketing.
