Carbon Cycle North Carolina LLC is seeking a hands-on Feedstock Manager to support reliable biomethane production at its anaerobic digestion and renewable natural gas facility in Warsaw, North Carolina. This role is responsible for maintaining consistent feedstock quality, availability, and supplier coordination in support of safe and efficient plant operations.

C2NC develops and operates industrial-scale anaerobic digestion facilities that transform organic byproducts into pipeline-grade renewable natural gas. These facilities not only reduce methane emissions but also offer a sustainable, circular alternative to traditional energy sourcing. Our flagship site in Warsaw, NC is one of the largest of its kind in the Southeast - and it’s just the beginning.

The Warsaw facility receives agricultural and organic feedstocks, produces pipeline-quality renewable natural gas, manages digestate, and treats process wastewater through an on-site membrane bioreactor system.

Position Summary

The Feedstock Manager serves a key role within Technical Operations by managing front-line supplier relationships, coordinating incoming feedstock supply and quality standards, and improving recipe management and controlled blending of biomass streams. The position diagnoses feedstock-related operational upsets, implements corrective actions, and supports plant availability and biomethane production output through reliable feedstock quantity and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Plant Manager in all commercial and technical aspects of feedstock acquisition, quality management, and delivery coordination / logistics.

• Maintain a strong hands-on presence in the plant, including troubleshooting, sampling, testing, process adjustments, and equipment evaluation.

• Manage key supplier relationships and clear communication regarding material quantity, source, arrival timing, and composition.

• Develop depth of knowledge and subject matter expertise in feedstock recipe optimization including, but not limited to:

  • Supplier relationship management

  • Tactical coordination of feedstock deliveries

  • Close collaboration with Plant Manager to ensure no surprises relating to quantity, source, delivery timing, and content of incoming feedstock deliveries

  • Manage feedstock blend / recipe for optimal control of digester microbiological health and biogas production performance

  • Frontline leadership and training of feedstock operations team to ensure best practices in feedstock quality / acceptance assessments, feedstock blending, and feedstock receiving system best operating practices

  • Rapid-response troubleshooting

• Coordinate feedstock deliveries and associated trucking logistics, including, but not limited to:

  • Develop logistics systems capable of:

    • 1- pre-scheduling incoming feedstock deliveries to be used by suppliers;

    • 2- integrating with tools to log every inbound load that ties to the company’s accounting system for billing purposes; and

    • 3- adds technology to rapidly scan feedstocks at the receiving area to verify type pf feedstock and its energy content, among other things.

• Lead and train the receiving operations team in quality and acceptance assessments, blending practices, and receiving-system operations.

• Provide rapid-response troubleshooting for feedstock-related operational upsets and implement corrective actions.

• Drive continuous improvement of field-installed equipment, engineered systems, operations and maintenance knowledge, standard operating procedures, and training.

• Support research and development of material characterization standards and acceptance-control procedures.

• Provide leadership and cross-training for plant technical, operating, and maintenance teams.

• Support community relationship management involving spill-response planning, transportation safety, and related material-handling activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science or technical field preferred.

• Prior experience in industrial or agricultural operations, environmental services, logistics, or material-handling preferred.

• Mechanical and hands-on experience with pumps, tanker trucks, and material-handling equipment.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills for working with key feedstock suppliers.

• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment and operational processes.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong collaboration and team-interaction skills when working with plant management and cross-functional site teams.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Experience

• Background coordinating suppliers, inbound material schedules, or transportation planning in industrial, agricultural, or organic-material operations.

• Experience with feedstock characterization, quality programs, recipe development, or controlled blending.

• Familiarity with feedstock receiving systems, pumps, tanker trucks, or material-handling equipment in an industrial setting.

• Demonstrated ability to train or lead receiving, technical, operating, or maintenance teams.

• Emergency spill-response planning and trucking logistics safety.

Work Environment and Schedule

This is a full-time, in-person role at the C2NC facility in Warsaw, North Carolina. The Feedstock Manager must be comfortable working in an active industrial setting, collaborating with plant management and technical, operations, and maintenance personnel, and traveling locally on an infrequent basis.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is $90,000 to $125,000 annually. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and retirement benefits, subject to applicable plan terms and eligibility requirements.
