Carbon Cycle North Carolina LLC is seeking a skilled Operations and Maintenance Technician to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of its anaerobic digestion and renewable natural gas facility in Warsaw, North Carolina. This hands-on role monitors plant processes, performs preventive and corrective maintenance, and helps maintain industrial equipment and systems in accordance with standard operating procedures and safe industry practices.

C2NC develops and operates industrial-scale anaerobic digestion facilities that transform organic byproducts into pipeline-grade renewable natural gas. These facilities not only reduce methane emissions but also offer a sustainable, circular alternative to traditional energy sourcing. Our flagship site in Warsaw, NC is one of the largest of its kind in the Southeast - and it’s just the beginning.

The Warsaw facility receives agricultural and organic feedstocks, produces pipeline-quality renewable natural gas, manages digestate, and treats process wastewater through an on-site membrane bioreactor system.

Position Summary

The Operations and Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the performance, safety, and reliability of plant equipment and systems. The position completes preventive maintenance, performs routine field inspections, monitors and operates process equipment, collects and evaluates production data, and adjusts operating conditions using SCADA and field observations. The role requires practical industrial-maintenance skills, disciplined documentation, strong problem-solving ability, and a consistent commitment to site safety and housekeeping standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow the preventive maintenance schedule by completing routine equipment inspections and daily site walks, performing greasing and oil top-offs, and closing completed work requisitions and job orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

• Monitor and operate plant process equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures and safe industry practices.

• Collect production data, including laboratory analyses, SCADA historian information, and field logs, and use that information to adjust plant operating conditions through SCADA and field activities in support of plant production plans and goals.

• Follow site safety procedures and help ensure contractors and coworkers comply with safe work practices and protocols.

• Identify spare-parts and consumable needs and prepare purchase requisitions for approval.

• Safely operate forklifts, hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools as required for maintenance and operational tasks.

• Inspect parts, piping, and equipment using rulers, calipers, and other measuring instruments.

• Support temporary line and piping fabrication, patchwork, welding, grinding, and cutting activities in accordance with applicable safety procedures.

• Clean equipment as necessary and maintain a safe, orderly work environment.

• Maintain current equipment calibration records and related documentation.

• Inspect and test eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, personal protective equipment, and other life-safety systems.

• Support team objectives and complete additional tasks assigned by the Facility Manager to help operate and maintain the facility safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Industrial operations or maintenance experience involving pumps, compressors, conveyors, screws, or other large industrial machinery.

• Experience operating integrated plant systems and evaluating analytical production data to determine appropriate operating actions.

• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical manuals, schematics, and engineering specifications.

• Skilled in diagnosing equipment issues, dismantling machinery, removing parts using hand tools, comparing damaged parts with specifications, and replacing worn or damaged components.

• Knowledge of cleaning and lubricating machinery, including changing oils when required.

• Computer proficiency and experience maintaining accurate operating and maintenance documentation.

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, safety awareness, and adaptability in a technical industrial environment.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Industrial maintenance, preventive maintenance, field inspection, troubleshooting, and calibration.

• Working knowledge of SCADA, control systems, wiring, electrical systems, electronic testing, and applicable electrical codes.

• Proficiency in using power tools, hoisting equipment, cranes, forklifts, and industrial measurement tools safely.

• Skill in recognizing equipment-performance changes through visual inspection, operating data, and sound.

• Clear communication, teamwork, production planning, procurement support, and accurate technical documentation.

Preferred Experience

• Background in a manufacturing, renewable natural gas, anaerobic digestion, wastewater, or similar industrial-process environment.

• Familiarity with CMMS platforms used to document preventive maintenance and completed work orders.

• Practical knowledge of pumps, compressors, conveyors, screw equipment, fabrication, welding, grinding, or cutting.

• Forklift, crane, or hoisting experience.

Work Environment and Schedule

This is a full-time, in-person, night-shift position at the C2NC facility in Warsaw, North Carolina. The position follows a non-rotating 12-hour, 2-2-5-5 schedule: two days on, two days off, five days on, and five days off. The Operations and Maintenance Technician must be comfortable working in an active industrial environment and must be available for longer hours, overtime, or weekend work when operational needs require.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is $29 to $35 per hour. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and retirement benefits, subject to applicable plan terms and eligibility requirements.
